The Whirlwind Charitable Trust welcomes applications for funding for projects that fit our remit. These include specifically maritime and other outdoor pursuits to enhance the lives and prospects of young people and especially those suffering from any kind of disadvantage. We are especially keen to fund projects where follow-up mentoring is included to help individuals build on the experiences provided through Whirlwind.
Whirlwind is also keen to support environmental preservation and education, with an emphasis on the ocean environment.

This site will guide you though the process of applying to us for a grant or donation, but before you start please make sure you have read our Applications Guidelines on our website:
To begin an application you will first need to register and validate your email address using the links on this page, this will allow you to save and return to your application so you need not complete it in one go - please follow carefully the prompts about creating passwords as strict rules do apply!
The application itself consists of a questionnaire about your organisation, followed by a second questionnaire about the project for which you seek funding. Finally you will need to upload various documents to support your application. The portal will prompt you at every stage for what is needed and all your work is saved as you go.
Remember that once you have completed all the tasks you must then finally submit your application by clicking "Review and Submit" and then "Submit your Application" to start the process.
Finally a note on editing your application. You can edit your application at any time before it is submitted, however if you have clicked "Mark as Complete" at the end of a form you will have to re-open the form. You can do this by clicking the box containing 3 dots at the top right of the form and selecting "edit form".
